Something nice happened before a Buffalo Sabres-Boston Bruins hockey game at the Key Bank Center area in Buffalo, New York this past April 28th.

When the microphone cut out on Buffalo-borne singer/songerwriter Cami Clune as she began siinging Canada’s national anthem, which has always been a tradition in Buffalo whether a Canadian team is playing or not, the crowd took over, bringing the anthem to a rousing end.

Certainly, there are Canadians who are fans of the Sabres and were probably in that crowd but it could not have been enough to send the anthem ringing through the stadium like that.

It was for me, as I watched a video of this for the first time earlier this April 29th on a U.S. cable news program, a heartwarming moment and a reminder that we Canadians do have many friends among our neighbours across the border.

It will be wonderful when the day comes that Trump has left office and we all feel comfortable crossing that Peace Bridge and visiting them again.

Now here is the video of ‘O Canada’ being sung by the crowd at the Buffalo Sabres-Boston Bruins game that you can watch by clicking on the screen immediately below –

It is just too bad that Buffalo lost the game 2 to 1.
