For whatever reason, Canada is a convenient punching back from the U.S. Trump administration

And if the threats and insults are not coming from Trump himself, they are coming from Pete Hoekstra, the ambassador he has shipped up to Ottawa to toe the line for him in our country.
Earlier on in his time here, Hoekstra responded to expressions of anger from Canadians to the taunt from Trump that our country should become a “51st state” with a figurative wave of his hand and the suggestion that we should just “move on” and get over it.
In the wake of Trump’s more recent threats that Canada should be punished with more crippling tariffs because of the smoke drifting down in to the country he rules like a 17th century king from wildfires up north, Hoekstra could hardly wait to echo his master’s threat with the line; “Canada must answer for wildlife smoke.”
What I would like to know is who is going to answer for the smoke coming out of Hoekstra’s mouth and how much more of this Trump-groveling creep do we have to take?
In the meantime, there is never one word from Trump and Hoekstra about the water bombers and hydro trucks governments in our country sent down into the United States, without any hesitation, to help deal with wildfires and massive power outages from severe storms there.
Why would they make any reference to that when it so clearly appears that they want to use Canada as a punching bag for whatever political mileage they think they are getting out of it.
Just one more reason why we Canadians should stand up for our country by not purchasing Made in the U.S.A. products and by avoiding trips as we can across the border.
