In Wake of Growing Greenbelt Scandal, Ford Shuffles Deck Chairs on the Titanic

‘Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss’. We, The People, Should Not Get Fooled Again

A Brief One from Doug Draper

Ontario Premier Doug Ford

So Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s ethically bankrupt Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark is gone and Ford has replaced him and and made a few other changes in his cabinet in the wake of growing concerns over corruption – possibly rising to crimes being committed – over more than $8 billion dollars worth of land swaps being make in our province’s protected Greenbelt.

During a news conference earlier this September 5th, Ford gave no suggestion that the false choice he has so far offered us between building affordable housing and saving food-growing lands in the Greenbelt is full of bull.

Ford continues to give us every reason to believe that he will continue to pursue a goal he has promised developers before he was even elected premier in 2018 – to take out “big chunks” of the Greenbelt and our precious wetlands and woodlands to accommodate more roads, highways and  low-density urban sprawl.

All of this to please powerful members of the development industry that has been donating big bucks to his Conservative Party.

So this mini cabinet shuffle Ford has announced makes me think of at least one song – ‘We Won’t Get Fooled Again’ by The Who. To hear it, click on the screen immediatedly below

Please everyone.

For the sake of ourselves and future generations in an age of climate crisis a growing food shortages. Let’s not get fooled by the Ford government’s misinformation about what we need to do to solve the housing crisis and its dangerous rhetoric and plans to gut ever more of our precious natural heritage again.

  1. Hi Doug

Interesting thought…..I wonder if the developers remortgaged these green belt properties once the green belt removals caused values to skyrocket. Hmm
