Some recent images Donald Trump posted on his social media site recently, portraying himself as Jesus Christ (right) and of him being embraced by Jesus – images that were met with disgust by many people in his own country and around the world.
I am neither a Catholic nor a member of any other religious faith but you don’t have to be to feel a sense of awe for what Pope Leo, the Catholic Church’s first American-borne pontiff, said during an address he delivered to a large audience of worshippers in the Central African country of Cameroon this April 16th.
Without mentioning their names, Pope Leo aimed some very strong words at the likes of Donald Trump and his fellow ‘strongman’ Vladimir Putin for all of the devastation and suffering they have caused while in Trump’s case, in particular, portraying himself as an oh so Holy instrument of God.
