Breaking News – Ford Now Plans To Sell His Paid-For-By-We-The-People, 28.9 Million Dollar Private Jet A.S.A.P.

Facing growing turbulence this past week over his recent purchase of a “private jet,”  Ontario Premier Doug Ford issued a statement shortly before noon this Sunday, April 19th, that he is moving immediately to sell the private jet he and his Conservatives purchased with close to $30 million of our tax money.

Here is a story on the matter, just produced by CBC that you can read by clicking on – https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/doug-ford-jet-sell-9.7169704

And here is one News Release from Ontario’s NDP Official Opposition Party late last this past week, blasting the jet purchase –

Doug Ford’s party with taxpayer dollars continues with $30 million private jet

QUEEN’S PARK — Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition, is slamming Doug Ford for his latest luxury haul: a taxpayer-funded $30 million private jet:

While Ford puts his hands in the taxpayer’s pocket to buy himself a private jet and build luxury spas, families are struggling to buy groceries,” said Stiles.

“Ford ran on a promise to stop the gravy train only to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on his gravy plane. This is ridiculous.”

In 2019, the Premier boasted that he was the “only Premier in history” to not use government planes to save taxpayers money.

“$30 million could mean more support for kids in classrooms, more homes in our communities, or more people getting the health care they need. Instead, Doug is buying a private luxury jet.

“Ford needs to answer to the people of Ontario: Why is he using their hard-earned money to buy himself a plane?

“Maybe it’s time to start flying economy like the rest of us.”

(A Brief Footnote from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large – Here is my first place. How much money are taxpayers across our province now going to lose selling this jet now? If it is anything like buying a new car, price of the vehicle drops significant the moment you drive it off the lot.

This is yet another example of the costly mismanagement of government time and money that too many Ontarians voted for. Hope they enjoyed Ford’s One Buck cans of beer while they lasted.)
