A Brief Word from Doug Draper with a Song by John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Rival
Posted on a very rainy Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 on Niagara At Large
I don’t know about you but for me, this weather we have been having is starting to get a little annoying.
As I am sure at least some of you do know who have been visiting Niagara At Large over the years, certain songs come often come to mind for me, depending on what is going down and on this super wet day in Niagara, I found myself singing this one.
Here it is performed by John Fogerty, the man who wrote it and originally recorded it with his band Creedence Clearwater Revival, who is accompanied by Bruce Springsteen, the late, great Robbie Robertson from The Band and other friends at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I’m sure many of you will agree it is a perfect song for this day and so many others we have splashed through this spring of 2026.

And yes, I know that we need water for life and for all of the plants around us to grow, but a few more days with blue skies and sunshine would be nice right about now too.
