‘A Brief Comment from Doug Draper

When David Bowie wrote those lyrics for an album called ‘Earthling’ in 1997, the inspiration for them apparently came while he was visiting the Indonesian island of Java and witnessed the first McDonald’s fast food restaurant going up there – an invasion of a base feature of Americana on that culture he found “depressing.”
With Bowie’s death this January and those lyrics swirling around in so many of the tributes, I could see them being reborn again as a perfect soundtrack as Donald Trump and Sarah Palin – two of America’s most ghoulish politicians and both such masters at playing to the darkest side of their fellow citizens – came together this January 19th so that Palin could endorse Trump’s campaign for the presidency of the United States. All while praying for God’s blessing for them and the American nation they are fighting to save.
“I’m afraid of Americans. … God is an American.”
And God help the rest of the world.

Just when you thought American politics couldn’t get any funnier….or should I say more frightening…. they do! Please, if there is a god, send us a sign that this is just a big prank!
That woman can’t walk and chew gum. I’m shocked that even Trump would want her endorsement! She thought Africa was a country. She assures us she can see Russia from her house. Gaaagh!

I’m an American….you don’t have to be afraid of me. But, I know what you mean…..it may be entertaining, but it’s getting pretty scary in the country of my birth. I also like Bernie and his stated policies, but Hillary would be way better than any of the other war mongers.
