“The climate crisis isn’t a problem for a future generation. We’re living with its consequences right now.”
A Message from the Green Party of Ontario
Posted August 28th, 2026 on Niagara At Large
Ontario has suffered through 750 wildfires so far this year. That’s up from 650 last year and 480 in 2024.
Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate. Smoke and poor air quality have affected people far beyond the fire zones. And fire rangers and first responders are working hard to keep people safe.
Another difficult wildfire season is reminding us just how much is at stake.
The climate crisis isn’t a problem for a future generation. We’re living with its consequences right now.
Ontario Greens are fighting for stronger climate action, better wildfire preparedness, and real investments in protecting our forests and communities.
But that fight is stronger when more Ontarians stand with us.
