Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau so often fails to follow up his warm and fuzzy rhetoric with real iaction?
If Justin Trudeau’s Liberals wonder why they are sinking like a rock in the polls and why all those ‘F— Trudeau’ flags are out there – flags this journalist finds repulsive, by the way – they may want to consider the possibility that people have just about had enough with their failure to follow up warm, fuzzy promises with effective action.
On every challenge from the climate crisis to protecting democracy, soaring grocery costs, affordable housing and women from sexual abuse, Canadians have seen little more than lip-service or the recycling of promises put off for years (like the waving of the GST to build new rental apartments) from Trudeau’s Liberal government.
As recently as this October 17th, Trudeau has issued a statement observing the “International Day for the Eradication of Poverty,” followed by a bunch of words on how much r his government has done to eradicate poverty across Canada. Continue reading
