With Gratitude & Humility from Niagara At Large reporter/publisher Doug Draper

I had absolutely no plans to advertise my 75th birthday (75? ouch, ouch, ouch!!!) this past April 25th, but Facebook and its notorious habit of spreading peoples’ birth dates around, is a pretty powerful tool and I was overwhelmed to discover that my Facebook page, which is an extension of my online independent news commentary Niagara At Large website, was filled with more than 100 heartwarming Happy Birthday messages this past weekend.
I sure don’t take that lightly and I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to make this person feel a little bit better about getting to an age I once hoped was so far ahead of me that I didn’t have to give it a moment’s thought.
Time certainly does slip away and we must all remember to use it as wisely as possible .during the short journey we all share together here

One of my favourite songs about passing time, written in the 1960s with such a maturity by the great Canadian-borne, singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell, kept playing through my mind this past Birthday, is called The Circle Game and you can hear it by clicking on the screen immediately below –
