Some People Should Never Be Allowed Anywhere Near An Animal!

Thanks To The Extreme Idiocy Of Its Owner, Dog Suffers Excruciating Death In An Extremely  Hot Car

Lucky is one of the most recent dogs to suffer a terrible death after her owner left her locked up alone in a hot car.

How many times do we have to be told to NEVER leave a dog or any other animal alone in a car on a hot day?

That warning has been circulated by humane societies and media outlets, including this one, over and over for as many springs and summers that cars have been around.

Yet every year, we hear terrible stories about family pets dying from heat in locked cars while those who should be caring for them are off somewhere, scratching their backsides or doing whatever else.

The most recent report of this, covered by CBC Radio and other national news networks this past July 11th, was so difficult to hear it left this animal lover shaking with anger.

It occurred in Calgary, Alberta on Canada Day and involved what was described as a four-year-old part German shepherd, part Alaskan malamute locked called Lucky, locked in a burning hot car while her owner was away for more than an hour doing something.

Passersby reportedly witnessed the car shaking from the dog convulsing and panting so heavily from the heat and they immediately called 911.

Unfortunately, by the time the police got there and broke one of the car’s windows to reach the poor suffering dog, she was dead It wasn’t the dog’s ‘Lucky’ day.

The female owner was charged is now awaiting whatever punishment that province imposed on such individuals for committing acts like this.

In my view people who do this to any animal should be sentenced to time in jail and be barred from ever owning or of having, for whatever other reason, an animal again. Never mind the usual fine.

In the meantime, if someone witnesses an animal suffering in a hot car, they should be granted  complete immunity for smashing the windows and rescuing the animal themselves.

For God’s sake, how many times do people need to be told – as if it is even necessary to tell people – not to leave an animal, or a young child for that matter, in a hot car!

Doing it to the point where the animal inside is left suffering or, worse yet, dies should mean automatic time behind bars for offenders.

Once again, as I finish my rant, I am left thinking about how much my species disappoints me.
