Never mind quality health care or environmental protection, when it comes to vaccine passports, this Premier doesn’t want a “split society”
Over and over again, I am reading and hearing news reports that Ontario Premier Doug Ford doesn’t support the idea of a vaccine passport because that would result in a “split society.”
This is Ford’s position in the wake of growing support from individual citizens and businesses in Ontario and across the country that vaccine passport or vaccine certificate or whatever you choose to call it is a good idea as we face a possible “Fourth Wave” in this Coronavirus plague.
Normally, I don’t like to see a “split society” either. In this age of social media and hyper-partisan politics, there is too much division between us.
Yet you’ll have to excuse me in the case of vaccine passports, Mr. Premier.
I am all in favour of a “split society” it means splitting those of us who are fully vaccinated away from those who make a willful decision not to get vaccinated.
Why should those of us who have taken the responsibility to protect ourselves and our family, friends and neighbours in the spirit of the common good, have to worry about going to a theatre, a music concert or any other public or private venue, and sitting or standing next to someone who is a welcome mat for the Delta variant?
Why should children under the age of 12 who, so far, cannot get vaccinated have to be anywhere near those who make a conscious choice not to get vaccinated?
If splitting us apart from the vaccine resister who, I suspect, make up a large portion of the Ford Conservative government’s political base, is what Ford’s idea of a “split society” is all about, then bring it on!

Honestly f#@$ you and your split society!! You can still get covid and pass it on if you are vaxxed or not vaxxed but if your vaxxed and believe it works then what should it matter if I’m not…. I’m not getting the experimental vaccine that’s not even FDA approved yet and has killed way more people then any other vaccine
