Ford government is moving to further weaken Ontario’s environmental protections for the benefit of developers anxious to pave over more of our natural heritage
Earlier this November, we address the news about Ford’s approval of a 4-million square foot warehouse on top of a sensitive wetland in Durham.
THINGS HAVE GOTTEN WORSE.
Buried in the Ford government’s November 5th budget is a plan to do this sort of thing everywhere in Ontario.
Conservatives want to take legal power away from the Conservation Authorities (including the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority in our Niagara Region) who are responsible for protecting our wetlands, forests and wildlife habitat.
If this plan goes through, Ford’s hand-picked conservative ministers will have total authority to grant permits destroying the places we love.
Science be damned.

This isn’t the first time Doug Ford has re-written the laws so big money can trump science.
He did the same thing when he put wildlife in the express lane to extinction by gutting the Endangered Species Act.
He did it again when he allowed gravel companies to dig below the water table.
And then there’s his attack on old-growth forests – giving logging companies a free pass to clear-cut.
This is Doug’s idea of a recovery from COVID-19.
There is no piece of nature that will be off-limits if the price is right.
THIS IS THE BATTLE WE’RE FIGHTING TODAY AND IT’S THE CHOICE THAT WILL BE ON THE BALLOT IN 2022.

Doug Ford is up to his tricks again ruining our wet lands thought he might have changed but I think he has gotten worst going behind our backs when we are all worried about the coronavirus we won’t forget when elections roll around but in the main time we have to all yell loud and clear too stop him not even following the exports on the coronavirus now Trump all over again
