Durham, Ontario, May 10th, 2014 – Only the PC Party will create 120,000 new jobs by making Ontario the lowest tax jurisdiction in North America for job creation, said Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak today, as he was joined by Durham Candidate Mike Patrick.

“High taxes are driving jobs out of Ontario,” said Hudak during a visit to a Durham-area manufacturing company.  “High taxes mean more jobs they won’t create or keep.  That’s why our Million Jobs Plan will replace corporate welfare with fair and lower taxes to create jobs and get Ontario working better.”

Hudak noted that the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals play favorites and hand out hundreds of millions of dollars to the biggest companies just because they have the best Liberal lobbyist.

“My message to employers is clear,” the PC Leader said.  “I am going to take Ontario out of the crony capitalism business.”

Our Million Jobs Plan will create 120,000 jobs over the next eight years by reducing the tax burden on employers by 30 per cent – making them the lowest in North America.

“I’m for more businesses, paying less tax and hiring more workers,” said Hudak.  “My opponents are for fewer businesses, paying more tax, which means hiring fewer workers,” said Hudak.  “More businesses starting and growing here in Ontario means more jobs.  It’s that simple.”

If taxes were the answer to increase jobs then companies would have moved to Canada when Harper lowered fed. taxes to the lowest of all OECD countries. They would have also moved their operation from the US and moved to Canada in order to remain on the North American continents since the US have much higher taxes. Or they would have all moved to Alberta to get the lowest taxes in Canada. Yet none of this has enticed corporations. We already know that companies are flush with profits according to the Bank of Canada and the Conservative government. So in light of these well known facts, Hudak will continue to erode any semblance of a civil society by cutting social programs, in spite of these facts. The reason? Hudak is ideologically driven not by facts but by what he believes.

And what’s this switch-up with millions jobs that will create 120 thousand jobs. Talk about a manipulative play on words. Hudak, I suggest you go back to school and this time really listen to the professor of economics.

First he was going to create a million jobs. Last week it was 250,000. Now he’s going to cut 100,000 from the public service roster. Which is it?

  3. Matthew I would not bother getting into a debate with you when most of your information comes from the “Fraser Institute” an Ultra Right wing organization that receives much of it’s funding from The American Enterprise Institute and the Cato Institute South of the Border. A few short years ago a documentary was released called “The Corporation”
based almost entirely on the ideological agenda of the Fraser Institute and it was a very scarey scenario that spoke out against the social safety net and the need to put a price tag on every single thing in this world.
Harris and Manning are both seniors fellows with the Fraser Institute and together it is said they have actually fabricated a novel dealing with and exhorting the Corporate agenda as a divinity that will someday take over the world???
I would be a little concerned over what you have to say regarding the bountiful gifts presented to the provinces by the Harper Government for did Harper NOT JUST refuse to sign the HEALTH ACCORD with the provinces while threatening to eliminate or cut $36 Billion Dollars from Health transfer payments to the provinces over the next five years?
It is evident you know nothing about Harper’s History or if you do know then you agree with the philosophies of the late Colin Brown and his National Citizens Coalition.
    (1) In the Sixties PREVENT the implementation of the Health Accord which at that timed failed and he began the N.C.C.
    (2) For some reason eliminate the Canadian Wheat Board, Harper, his disciple eliminated the Wheat Board recently????
