FENWICK in Niagara, ON – Families across Niagara are invited to spend an afternoon at the farm during the upcoming HSFK Open Farm – Celebrating Horses & Community on Saturday, June 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at BNR Stables, home of Horse Sense for Kids.
Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
This relaxed, family-friendly event offers visitors the opportunity to meet the horses, explore the farm, and enjoy an afternoon focused on connection, community, and fun.
Proceeds from the event and accompanying online auction help support the care of HSFK’s horses and ensure programs remain accessible to children and youth across Niagara.
Guests can enjoy:
- Horse rides
- Meeting and grooming horses
- Petting area • Face painting • Games and crafts
- Photo booth
- Mama J’s Eats and Treats food truck A highlight of this year’s fundraiser is the HSFK Online Auction, running from June 7–21.
The auction features experiences, local getaways, dining packages, family outings, and unique gifts donated by generous local businesses and supporters. Community members can browse and bid by visiting HSFK.ca for the auction link. Featured items include an
Ultimate Niagara Luxury Escape Package valued at more than $1,700, a Niagara Wine Country Experience for Four, Afternoon Tea for Four at 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa, and numerous restaurant and entertainment packages from across Niagara.
“Our horses help create a place where children can slow down, connect, and simply feel accepted,” said Brenda Langendoen, Founder and Executive Director of Horse Sense for Kids.
“Open Farm is a chance for the community to experience that environment firsthand while helping support the horses and programs that make it possible.”
The event is more than just a fun day at the farm. It serves as an important fundraiser supporting horse care while helping Horse Sense for Kids continue delivering programs that build confidence, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and a sense of belonging for children and youth facing adversity.
