“God bless dear John, our patron saint of laughter. God bless and keep his soul. I will miss him, but I hope and pray to leave this world too someday and to have a place near God, as near as any other soul, with the exception of John Candy.” – from a eulogy Catherine O’Hara delivered for her friend John Candy, at the memorial service following his death in 1994
Another Brief One from Doug Draper on Catherine O’Hara

Two Canadian legends – Catherine O’Hara and John Candy
Even before I get started here, some of you may be thinking; ‘What’s Draper doing? With all the other heavy things to post news and commentary on in this region and others, is he going to post another light piece about entertainers?’
The answer is;’Yes he is.’
After all of the crap raining down on us during the first month of this New Year from the world of politics and from one group of crackpots and extremists or another, I am going to take just a few more minutes off from all of that and from spending the past week and a half shoveling snow out of my driveway every six hours to post one more piece about the passing of two of Canada’s greatest comedians’.
Not that there is anything light about people passing away but I hope you find the following video as touching as I did when I came across it a few days ago.
The video features Catherine O’Hara, who died this past January 30th at age 71, delivering a eulogy for fellow Canadian comedian and actor at a memorial service following his death in 1994.
