Help Put Nature At The Forefront Of The Ontario Election In 2025.

Protect Our Planet & The Natural Heritage In Our Province-  Vote for Biodiversity and Climate Resilience

A Call-Out To All Ontario Voters from the non-profit environmental advocacy group, Ontario Nature

Posted January 26th, 2025 on Niagara At Large

Ontario is headed for an early election. Premier Ford has said he will trigger the election on Wednesday, January 29th.

As residents of Ontario, we must make nature conservation an election issue.

While issues related to affordability and tariff threats from the United States are likely to dominate headlines and the election campaign, we cannot ignore the interrelated biodiversity and climate crises. All those issues are foundational to our long-tern health and wellbeing, and economic prosperity.

  1. I will vote for nature. I am sick of Short Hills Provincial Park being transformed into a hunting ground complete with convenient inside-park parking (available to hunters). in the fall months. The deer population has been decimated over these last 10 years with no one accountable. No one is concerned enough to do a survey of the deer (it’s been years) or perform an environmental assessment to examine the impact of hunting off trails and into sensitive environments.
