Trump Is Right About One Thing. He Can Get Away With Almost Anything.

As almost anyone with an open, rational mind already knows, Donald Trump lies as often with as much ease as most of the rest of us breathe air.

But the orange-face clown monster was honest with us way back when in 2016, when he ran and won the race for U.S. president the first time when said one thing; “I can stand out on Fifth Avenue (in downtown Manhattan) in broad daylight and shoot someone and get away with it,” he boasted.

Well here we are eight years later, after a whole posse of state and federal prosecutors were  after him on charges that could land him in jail for years and now, with those criminal cases virtually melting away, he is on his way back to the White House again.

This morning of December 12^th, just as I was beginning to cope with all of the grief and anger that enveloped me after the results of this past November’s U.S. presidential election came in, I woke up to the news that Trump was back on the cover of a soon-to-be-circulated Time Magazine as 2024’s man of the year.

To compound the horror of that, American cable news channels were showing clips of him, grinning like the Grinch who stole Christmas, with members of his family and associates, ringing the opening for the opening of the New York Stock Exchange while traders and hedge fund operators on  on the floor of the Exchange, were chanting “U.S.A., U.S.A. with  dreams of   more tax cuts for the rich and super-rich dancing in their heads.

I wish I could say that I am sorry to inflict this on you, dear readers, but since misery often begs for company, I am including a video clip of Trump and company at the Stock Exchange for your entertainment. One thing I don’t want to hear from anyone on the American side of the Canada/U.S. border any more is; “Everyone is equal under the law.”

At long last and at the very least, spare us from that one.
