Well ready up your wallet because Walmart and Staples would like to sell you as much as they can while you’re at it.
The Ford government’s recent decision to move ServiceOntario locations into Walmart and Staples will open up opportunities for US-owned mega corps to monetize every Ontarian accessing critical government services.
We’ve learned that Staples is already hiring someone to do exactly that – “monetize” the traffic they’re expecting to receive from ServiceOntario users.
So who’s benefiting here? Is it every day Ontarians, or is it the CEOs of Staples and Walmart?
The Ford government’s story just isn’t adding up – and Ontarians deserve answers.
That’s why Ontario Greens are calling on the Ford government to release the business case for using millions of taxpayer dollars to move ServiceOntario outlets into Staples and Walmart.
If this deal was truly made in the public interest, what have they got to hide?

It’s all about who are your wealthy retail friends, and nothing about public service. I tried a letter to the Niagara dailies about this, a badly done letter, I admit, but sheesh Dougie…. Ontario Service is supposed to help All Ontarians … public service for health, licences, I.D., not for buying computer paper and other products!!
