A Passionate Plea to Us from One of the World’s Great People – Sir David Attenborough – to Do Whatever is Necessary Now to Save Ourselves

Posted this November 1st, 2021 by Doug Draper on Niagara At Large

One of the world’s most dedicated environmentalists and making of films about our atural world, Sir David  Attenborough, said everything that needs to be said about the climate emergency rocking our planet today this November 1st 2021 at the global climate summit (COP26) now underway in Glasgow, Scotland.

I urge you to please listen to his address by clicking on the screen immediately below –

Saving natural areas like Waverly Woods in Fort Erie from urban sprawl should be a priority in any climate action plan for our Niagara region. It is time to tell the rogues and bottom feeders in the development industry that enough is enough.

Now do what you can to contact our municipal representatives in Niagara, Ontario and our provincial and federal representatives and urge them to do whatever is necessary to prevent any further paving over of what is left of our wetlands and woodlands and other natural heritage places in this region.

These green places, scientists around the world will tell you, play a vital role in absorbing the excessive carbon that is wreaking havoc on the climate and of cushioning us in so many other ways from damaging weather conditions.

  1. Sadly I saw several people looking at their iPhones during his speech. I’ve actually pretty much given up hope. Sir David has seen the difference in his NINE decades on earth. LISTEN TO HIM PLEASE!
