Enough is enough!
We’ve tried reasoning with these folks, and one thing has become abundantly clear.
When it comes to the hard-core anti-vaxxers, you can’t.
Indeed, when it comes to those who have dug themselves in to the idea that there is some vast, orchestrated conspiracy made up of infectious disease experts, nurses and doctors, drug manufacturers, political leaders and others who they are convinced are out there to make money off this pandemic and interrupt their freedom of movement and fun, there is little to nothing more that the rest of us can say or do.
It is like trying to talk to members of a cult. They are going to drink the Kool-Aid of conspiracy theories and mis-information whether we like it or not.
In the meantime, back on Planet Earth, what the growing evidence is showing is that this killer plague continues to thrive and produce more infectious and dangerous variants – variants robust enough to possibly break through the protective shields of the vaccines we now have – mostly because there are enough unvaccinated people around to stoke the coronavirus fire.
It is their “right” to say and do whatever they want. To hell with the common good..
We’ve heard all of the lines from these folks – “My body is my business,” “I have a bullet-proof immune system,” “All of the doom and gloom about the pandemic is a plot to enrich Big Pharma,” “Vaccines are a form of ‘bio-warfare’ peddled by ‘needle Nazis’” and on and on.
Never mind that over the past 15 months, well over 600,000 people and counting in the United States and Canada have so far died from this plague – more Americans and Canadians who died in the First and Second World Wars combined.
Never mind that we could now be looking at a Fourth Wave in a nightmare that has already wrought so much suffering on all of us and the communities we live in.
Science-based evidence shows that well over 95 per cent of the people in Canada and the United States who are keeping COVID-19 alive and allowing it to mutate are people who, at a time now when there is enough vaccine out there to protect all of us, make a deliberate choice – one that is selfish, irresponsible and dangerous – not to get vaccinated.
We need more signs like this in the doors and windows of public and private venues in Ontario
Like I said at the start, enough is enough.
It’s time for vaccine passports or whatever else you may wish to call proof we can carry on us that we are fully vaccinated.
It is time to use proof of vaccination to decide who gets to circulate freely in our communities and who doesn’t
And that should include who the rest of us have to stand in a cashier line with at a grocery store.
Let them scream all they want – “Well now how am I supposed to get my groceries?”
My response to that is – “You don’t care enough about the rest of us to get vaccinated? I don’t want to be in a grocery store or anywhere else with someone who chooses to be a magnet for the Delta variant or for any other more deadly strain of this virus that comes along. Have your groceries delivered to your home!”
The anti-vaxxers have become the clear and present danger within.
As Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the world’s leading infectious disease experts said recently – “The sad thing is that we could crush this virus if enough people got vaccinated.”
Shame on all of those people, who for reasons that have nothing to do with social responsibility, will not!
To hell with their selfish rights.
I am sure most of us would like to get back to times when we could go to a movie theatre, a concert or an arts and craft festival, or something of the like. And I think we should have the right to do that, feeling some security that we are not sitting or standing near people who choose to be unvaccinated.
The fully vaccinated should have the right to live in a world where these anti-vaxxers are barred from places where they pose a danger to our lives and those of our loved ones.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Doug! The reality will be that thinking government’s, like it or not, will be forced to enact vaccination minimums – not unlike those announced in France. Here in Australia we have been fortunate enough to avoid the worst of it through state border closures and extended lockdowns, though there were large pro-freedom marches in Melbourne, Brisbane and especially Sydney yesterday. Sydney is in the midst of an aggressive Delta variant Third wave lockdown that doesn’t look like it will end soon and our vaccination rates are only 15% for folks that have received two shots, so ‘enforcement’ is looking more likely than ever.
