If Ford Had Listened to Health Experts in Past, Would We Still Be In Lockdown Today?

Ontario Premier Doug Ford rolls up his sleeve for his COVID-19 vaccine in early April. He often sounds as though the vaccine alone will rapidly bring things back to “normal.” Then he opens business back up again, even while health experts plead with him to wait at least a little longer

QUEEN’S PARK — NDP Leader Andrea Horwath said the current Stay at Home order has to be extended, yet again, because Premier Doug Ford continuously refuses to do what the experts have told him to do.

“People are frustrated. They are exhausted. They are struggling with isolation. And they will be devastated to hear this Stay at Home order has to be extended, yet again, because of Doug Ford’s choices,” said Horwath.

“People and families have to stay locked down because Ford refuses to do what the experts have been telling him to do.

“If I were premier today, I would give workers paid sick days, close non-essential businesses and give them financial support, focus on hotspots, and re-open outdoor activities safely, right away.”
