Here’s Praying Trump’s Reign of Terror on Earth’s Climate is Almost Over

Trump Administration Officially Cuts U.S. Out of Paris Climate Agreement

“In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!”                                                                                  – U.S. President Donald Trump, on December 28th, 2017, in one of the self-described “stable genius’s” all-too-many bundles of wisdom to his tens-of-millions of followers on Twitter.

We were warned, weren’t we?

Everyone from successful New York City business executives who could see through Trump many years ago, when he was a con man firing everyone from Meat Loaf to Gary Busey on his reality TV show ‘The Apprentice’, to his estranged niece Mary Trump, a Ph.D psychologist and author of the best-selling book: ‘Too Much and Never; How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man’, have warned that if this self-serving wing nut sees himself going down, he may try to take everyone and everything down with him.

So why not begin – just one day after this November 3rd’ss U.S. election that hopefully means the end of his dangerous and destructive presidency – by following through on his years-old pledge to pull the United States out of a 2016 Paris Climate Agreement signed by more than 190 nations around the world, including Canada.

That’s what the Trump administration did this November 4th – not that it received much in the way of coverage in the middle of another deadly surge in a world-wide health pandemic, or in the wake of all of the mystery, stress and turmoil surrounding America’s November 3rd election.

Trump did what he vowed to do for four years, and even in what thousands of the world’s leading climate scientists and political leaders now agree is a potentially catastrophic climate emergency.

He has officially pulled the United States – the second largest emitter of climate-ravaging carbon emissions in the world – out of a Paris Climate Agreement championed by his predecessor, former U.S. president Barack Obama, whom he has continued to hold a pathological hatred for reasons that may very likely include his intelligence, popularity and skin colour.

This move by the Trump administration not only threatens the health and welfare of hundreds of millions of Americans for generations to come. It also threatens the health and welfare of Canadians and other peoples around the world, and all life on this planet.

In a news release circulated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) this November 4th, this iconic environmental group summed up the Trump administration’s withdrawal from the Paris Agreement this way –

“In response to the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, WWF issued the following statement from Carter Roberts, President and CEO:

“Today marks the US federal government’s withdrawal from the Paris Agreement. Even so, across the country, a coalition of states, cities, businesses, universities, faith organizations, tribes, and other actors have come together to say ‘we are still in.’ They represent more than half of the US population and nearly two-thirds of the US economy. They are doing their part to cut emissions, but they can’t meet America’s commitment alone.

“Eventually, the federal government needs to lead the charge. That’s why we will continue to urge the president – whoever that turns out to be – to re-join the Paris Agreement and enhance US ambition. In the meantime the We Are Still In coalition will continue to drive progress and set the stage for federal re-engagement.”

A Footnote from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large –

In just three and a half years, Trump and his willing enablers have done terrible damage to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – lone one of the world’s leading environmental bodies – and to environmental protection programs and rules that citizens fought for more than a half a century to put in place.

What we across the border in Canada must understand is that the significantly higher volumes of damaging pollution Trump and his minions have unleashed as a result of their actions knows no boundaries. Trump’s war on environmental protection threatens the health and welfare of all of us.

In little more than three years, Trump has all but destroyed the EPA, once respected as one of the world’s leading edge environmental protection organizations.

In the hours and days ahead, when all of the votes are finally counted, let’s hope and pray that this coming January, 2021, Trump will be gone and Joe Biden’s, Obama’s former vice president and a long-time U.S. senator, will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.

This November 4th, after learning that the Trump administration officially pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord, Joe Biden circulated the following words on Twitter –

“Today, the Trump Administration officially left the Paris Climate Agreement. And in exactly 77 days, a Biden Administration will rejoin it.”

For the sake of our children’s and grandchildren’s future on this planet, let’s pray for a Biden presidency, folks.

For our planet, there is NO Plan B!
