“For the first time in American history, a president has repeatedly shown utter and vulgar contempt and disrespect for those who have served and died serving our country. …. We owe it not only to those who have served and sacrificed for our nation, but to ourselves and to succeeding generations to vote him out.” – Retired Airline Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger

Every time this Canadian finds myself feeling really down about what is going on south of the border with Trump and his cultish followers, there is at least a little something that gives me hope.
This September 29th, that hope came in the form of a newly released ad, produced by ex-Republican Party operatives calling themselves The Lincoln Project and by a U.S. military veterans organization called Vets Vote.
The ad, which will apparently be widely circulated on social media and American television networks features retired commercial airline Captain Captain Chesley Sullenberger – also known as ‘Sully’ – who, in January, 2009, became an overnight hero after he was forced to glide a crippled jet with 155 people aboard onto the cold waters of the Hudson River between the shores of New Jersey and Manhattan.
Everyone aboard the jetliner survived a water landing that became known as “the miracle on the Hudson.”
In the ad, Sully joins a growing number of other distinguished Americans from all walks of life and all political persuasions in speaking out forcefully against a second presidential term for Trump.
Here is that great ad, which you can watch by clicking on the screen immediately below –
To any American friends and neighbours who may visit this post, I only say this.
Please make sure you get out there, for the sake of your country and the rest of the world, and vote this dangerous monster out of office.
