Now More Americans Have Died from this Plague than were Killed During More Than Ten Years of Vietnam War

Okay Folks, you may want to pour yourself a big tall glass of lemon-flavoured Lysol or Clorox bleach for this.
Remember when the self-described “stable genius” in the White House boasted that the United States only had about 15 confirmed cases of COVID19, and that “within a couple of days, (the cases of Coronavirus) is going to close to zero.”
It will be “a miracle” the man in the White House that so many right-wing, evangelical Christians who worship him as if he were the ‘Second Coming’ declared.
The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. I’ve been there as a Canadian and cried for the names of the more than 58.000 names carved in the stone there. Now more than that number have died in two months in the U.S. from a pandemic-scale virus Trump blew off just a few months ago as an overblown “hoax” and a “minor flu.”
Well, that was just two months ago, in the last week of February, and as of about 5 p.m. this April 28th, the number of confirmed cases in the United States surpassed one million, and the number of Americans who have died from COVID-19 complications – from singer/songwriter legend John Prine, to courageous doctors and nurses who have been treated people infested with this disease, and every day people like somebody’s beloved grandparents, parents, siblings and friends – surpassed the milestone number of 58,220.
Fifty-Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty-Two is the number of young American soldiers who died between 1959 and March of 1973 in Vietnam – in a war that the “stable genius” (aka reality TV con man) was able to dodge any drat to fight in at least three or four times, due to “bone spurs” the doctors his rich daddy paid for said he had during a time, he bragged later, he was a top college athlete.
Take another swig of Lysol or Clorox bleach – in case you missed it, a treatment recently recommended by the stable genius for fighting off COVID-19 – and try to rap your mind around that one.
The Trumpies in America want the country re-opened. A combination of their dear leader, Jesus and ingesting Lysol or bleach will save them.
Try asking why the millions of people who follow Donald Trump – who believe his bullshit so much that there were actually spikes in the calls to poison information centres in America after Trump recommended injecting our ingesting disinfectants (aka household cleaners like Lysol, Windex and bleach) as a treatment for COVID earlier this April – are not as outraged over a Vietnam War-era causality rate for a virus that only a few months ago, their ‘dear leader’ was writing off as a media-created “hoax” or than something about as worrisome as a “mild flu”.
Given the gullibility of so many millions of people in the United States when it comes to this con man, and the pressure that is on even now, despite these Vietnam War casualty counts, to get away from social distancing in many U.S. states and get back to business as usual, how relieved we Canadians should feel to still have the Canada-U.S. border closed to visitors from that country.
If they want to drink the bleach while they ‘Make America Great Again’, let them do it on their side of the border . But not here in Canada.
I think I’d rather have a good old Molson Canadian Beer.
What a terrible tragedy it is though for the now more than 58,220 dead American, and their families and friends, to have a president like this.
What a travesty it is to have a president who, at least as far back as January and February, ignored warnings from his own intelligence people about how lethal this oncoming virus could be.
Indeed, how obscene it is that Dr. Bone Spurs continues to spend his time watching nuts like Drs. Phil and Ox, and Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingrahams on Fox News, and bragging about the “ratings” he gets from his bogus COVID-19 press briefings, where he boasts about the brilliance of his leadership and spits at his perceived enemies while people in his country continue to die.
And Hillary Clinton is the one who should be locked up in jail?!!
And this is what ‘Make America Great Again’ is finally adding up to – more than 58,220 people who were alive ago two months ago, now dead – and counting!
