He is a feline celebrity in Niagara, and he may have more recognition than most of the region’s elected representatives in municipal, provincial and federal office.

You walk in the doors of Pet Valu – a retail store for pet food and other pet accessories at the Pine Plaza at 9 Pine Street North in Thorold – and who are almost certain to find at least a few shoppers there who are also there to say Hi to Tigger, a big orange and beige tabby who, along with his feline sidekick Gus,  is looking like he’s in charge of the place.

Tigger’s fan base has grown so much that at least two or three years ago his human colleagues at the store began producing a calendar featuring  beautifully shot photos placing him at the centre of scenery capturing the spirit of all 12 months of the year.

Tiggers’ calendar has become such a hit that a 2020 edition is now back and available at the Pet Valu Thorold outlet by popular demand.

If you haven’t got your new Tigger calendar yet, please drive out to the Pet Valu store at  the plaza on 9 Pine Street in Thorold and purchase yours while supplies last.

Wish a Happy Holiday Season and New Year to Tigger and Gus and their human companions  while you are there and please know that all proceeds from the sale of the calendar go to supporting animal assistance programs in our region.

Here is one of the Thorold Pet Valu store’s brief write-ups on the calendar –

Still searching for the perfect gift this holiday season? Well look no further! It doesn’t get any more perfect then twelve months of me! For only $20 cash you can look at perfection all year long. You can pick up my calendar at my store. All of the money raised from this calendar will be donated to Niagara Falls Community Cats and the Animal Assistance Society. Please share this with everyone so I can have another sell out year!

The calendar can be purchased at the Pet Valu store at 9 Pine Street North in Thorold (phone 905 227-9794) for $20 in cash to cover the cost of producing this high-quality calendar and a donation to the Animal Assistance Society of Niagara and Niagara Falls Community Cats.

While at the store, you can say wish Tigger and his feline sidekick Gus a Happy New Year too.

In case anyone is wondering, Niagara At Large is receiving no monetary benefits for posting this piece. We are doing it out of the love for animals and in memory of two wonderful felines we lost this year – Dexter and Dylan – who were big warm handsome guys like Tigger and Gus.
