A News Release from the Ontario and Niagara Oral Health Alliance

Posted June 13th, 2018 on Niagara At Large

The Ontario Oral Health Alliance was pleased to see promises to expand access to dental care in all four major party platforms during the Ontario election, a historic first for provincial elections in Canada.
“We offer congratulations to the Ontario PC Party on their election win and look forward to working with them as they implement their promise of dental care for low income seniors through Community Health Centres and Public Health Units,” said Lori Kleinsmith, Chair of the Niagara Dental Health Coalition.

The Ontario Oral Health Alliance will be watching closely to ensure the new PC government follows through in a timely way on their dental care commitment.

“Our members include public health dental professionals and community health workers with experience delivering public oral health programs and working with vulnerable people. We are ready and willing to help deliver a new low income dental program that’s cost effective for taxpayers and accessible for seniors,” said Jacquie Maund, Government Relations Lead with the Alliance for Healthier Communities.

The Ontario Oral Health Alliance will continue our public education and advocacy work toward the goal of equitable access to oral health care for everyone living in Ontario.

We get weekly enquiries from people in desperate pain who need dental care but cannot afford the high cost of dentistry in the private sector and have no options to obtain necessary  oral health care.

The Ontario Oral Health Alliance is a network of community health workers who believe there should be equitable access to oral healthcare for everyone in Ontario http://www.oaphd.on.ca/index.php/ooha
