Canada’s Government Supports Airstrikes in Syria

A Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on airstrikes in Syria

Posted April 14th, 2018 on Niagara At Large

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, issued the following statement today on airstrikes in Syria:

“Canada condemns in the strongest possible terms the use of chemical weapons in last week’s attack in eastern Ghouta, Syria.

“Canada supports the decision by the United States, the United Kingdom, and France to take action to degrade the Assad regime’s ability to launch chemical weapons attacks against its own people.

“We will continue to work with our international partners to further investigate the use of chemical weapons in Syria. Those responsible must be brought to justice.”‎

  1. I don’t remember Canadians ever being polled so I strongly object when my Prime Minister makes a unilateral decision and makes like we are on board. I am anti-war and most definitely opposed to the world’s growing and irresponsibly expensive military machines but as long as the decision is out of my hands I have been a long time proponent of requiring that our world’s Prime Ministers and Presidents fight on the front line. Lead the way, you bunch of privileged, insulated, delusional, psychopathic lunatics!

Just cynical enough to believe that Trumps’ outrage at Syria is a diversion.
I see few signs he cares much about anyone or anything but himself.
Notice how the headlines and experts, even on CNN, are now primarily focused on Syria and away from the scandals around “The Donald”.
Given his salacious comments about women, his slanders about the Russia investigation, and his unpresidential slurs of former WH staffers, does one really believe Trumps concerns over Syria are heartfelt issues for him.
No, in my view Trump is pleased with the diversion, especially since he gave ample notice so Syria and Russia could minimize the impact and show appropriate outrage in their own right. This is a win for Trump among his base but another loss for America. Looks good but accomplishes little in the long run. Bashar Hafez al-Assad is still in power.
Russia is still pulling his strings, and we are finally talking about something other than Trump: at least for now, that is until the next scandal at the White House!
We are still witnessing the mean-ing of America!

  3. Anybody still believe we are an independent country???
I credit NAFTA for signing us over to the US from Briton. The opponents of NAFTA predicted the outcome exactly in 1988.
I’ve never seen anything as obscene as Trump’s press conference last night.
How do they expect any informed individual to believe that BS.
Of course our prime minister doesn’t believe it, he’s just responding to Trump’s phone call!
