Niagara, Ontario – Jump on board the Chorus Niagara Transcontinental for a fun-filled choral excursion across Canada. Squid-jiggers, bronco-busters, pesky black flies and log-jammed lumberjacks tell their stories in song with lots of participation for both the young and the young-at-heart!
A Chorus Niagara first, this is an original new work, written and directed by Monica Dufault, Artistic Director of Carousel Players.
This FAMILY PROGRAM is a MATINEE Sunday March 25, 2:30pm, Cairns Recital Hall, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, St.Catharines. Recommended for ages 4-10.

Monica Dufault, Writer and Director. Monica Dufault has been an active member of the Niagara arts community for more than twenty years. As an actor, she performed at theatres across the country, including The Shaw Festival, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Theatre Aquarius, and the National Arts Centre. At Carousel Players, Monica is remembered for her performances in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Hobbit, Silverwing, Where the Wild Things Are, and Saving Lonesome George. Her play for young audiences, Peg and the Yeti, has been produced by Carousel Players, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, and several other Canadian companies. She began her directing career in 2006 as Assistant Director on Carousel Players’ production of Wimp, directed by Kim Selody.
In 2014, Monica became the Artistic Director of Essential Collective Theatre, where she directed The Valley, Wings of Wax, Falling: A Wake, L’Lapse, The Fighting Days, The Drawer Boy, The Welland Canal Play and the popular Senior Stories program, and guided the company’s new play development activities. Monica is also an experienced arts educator, teaching acting and script writing in Brock University’s Department of Dramatic Arts, delivering drama workshops in Niagara area elementary and secondary schools, and teaching drama classes, drama camps, and Playlinks for Carousel Players.
Lynne Honsberger Conductor and Music Director. A native of the Niagara Region, Lynne has enjoyed a full and varied career which includes appearances with numerous choral ensembles and orchestras, as well as regular solo performances. In addition to her current duties as Accompanist for Choralis Camerata, she was Chorus Niagara’s Accompanist for more than 25 years and currently accompanies the Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir. Lynne is also the Director of Music at St. Andrew’s United Church in Niagara Falls, where she divides her time between traditional and contemporary worship music. Lynne is also part of a piano duo that performs in concert throughout the Niagara Region.
Krista Rhodes, Pianist. Krista Rhodes is a sought after collaborative pianist and recording artist in the GTA, working with a wide variety of organizations and artists. She has appeared on stages in North America, Hungary, Belgium, Holland, and the UK. Krista has been coaching students and performing artists for nearly twenty years. Krista has recently been the featured artist for the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra’s outreach program; created music for a meditation album, showcasing the new world-renowned auditory technology at McMaster University’s Live Lab; and recorded both solo and orchestral piano pieces heard on the Oprah Winfrey Show. She is also the accompanist for the Bach Elgar Choir and Brott Music Festival in Hamilton, Ontario.
Amanda Nelli, Artistic Director – Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir. Amanda Nelli is an experienced music educator and choral conductor. She is in her seventh season as the Artistic Director for the Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir, a dynamic three-choir organization focused on inspiring a love of music through choral singing. As the Music Specialist at Fern Hill Private School in Oakville, Ms. Nelli directs a variety of youth choirs and has directed a number of musicals. She is also responsible for the design and implementation of the Music Program for Elementary-aged students.
