News from Ontario’s Niagara Parks Commission
Posted February 13th, 2017
Niagara Falls, Ontario – Niagara Falls will be bathed in soft pink and red lights this Valentine’s Day, providing the perfect backdrop to celebrate this romantic evening.
Visit Niagara with that someone special and view the beauty and impact of the newly enhanced illumination of both the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
This new LED lighting technology has dramatically improved the viewing experience of Niagara Falls at night and allows for a more robust colour spectrum, which will be on full display when Niagara Falls is illuminated in pink and red at the top of each hour for 15 minutes, throughout the evening on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
This special Valentine’s Day illumination is in addition to the regular nightly illumination displays, which will take place from 6:30 p.m. to midnight that evening.
Established in 1925, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board is made up of representatives from the City of Niagara Falls Ontario, City of Niagara Falls, New York, Ontario Power Generation Inc., New York Power Authority, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Niagara Parks Commission. It is the Illumination Board’s responsibility and mandate to finance and maintain the nightly illumination of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.
