A Call-Out from Rose McCormick and the Southern, Ontario community-based zine Writings To Our Mothers

Niagara, Ontario –

–     Thundering Waters Forest in Niagara Falls, Ontario  is currently being considered as a site for a housing and shopping complex known as “Paradise”, meaning the overwhelming majority of these 500 acres are at risk to be lost to urban sprawl and development.

–     Thundering Waters is forested and wetland home to hundreds of species of plant and animal life, including the endangered blue spotted salamander, monarch butterflies, and old-growth oak trees. The wetlands within this forest act as carbon sinks, absorbing c02 and helping to offset climate change.

  1. Facts and REALITY and when it comes to the governing body of the NPCA there does not seem to be any FACTUAL REALITY as decisions made about a business that the City agreed to seem to reek of bias when the owner finds himself on the end of a hefty fine…for OPERATING…..This seems so corrupt when the identical reason for the elimination of this business does not matter when Developers, City of Niagara Falls, Niagara Regional Council and the NPCA agree to bending the rules when it comes to big money interests….GREAT DEMOCRACY WE live in OOPS Sorry it is a DEMOCRACY but for the rich ELITES only the rest of us can go to hell..
