Niagara Falls, Ontario – The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) has put together a great lineup of activities for visitors and families this March Break holiday. Enjoy the majesty of Niagara Falls and marvel at the beauty of the remaining ice formations, which have taken shape this winter, as you take part in all that Niagara Parks has to offer, including:
We are the Insects Exhibit – Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory
March Break Hours March 12 to 20 – Daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last ticket sold at 4:30 p.m.)
Butterfly Café Holiday Hours March 12 to 24 – Daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 2565 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, ON
The “We are the Insects,” exhibit highlights the important role played by insects in our environment. Visitors to the fully accessible Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory will learn all about the advantages and interesting adaptations insects possess such as night vision, special hearing, enhanced smell, taste and touch, as well as defense mechanisms which allow them to not only survive, but thrive in their natural and increasingly settled habitats. The exhibit was developed by the Montréal Insectarium, one of the largest insect museums in North America.

March Break Activities – NPC’s Table Rock Complex, 6650 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, ON
- Journey Behind the Falls – This attraction gets you as close as you can get to mighty Niagara Falls. Experience the beauty of Niagara Falls in winter; the remaining ice formations in the Niagara River, as well as those surrounding the tunnels are a must-see as we count down to spring!
- Niagara’s Fury – Discover the ancient story of Niagara Falls, then re-live the exciting experience at Niagara’s Fury! The whole family will love this incredible adventure.
- Heritage Exhibit – March 12 – 19, Daily from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Learn more about Niagara’s involvement in the War of 1812 and NPC’s role in protecting the significant heritage sites, properties and stories that are important to all Canadians. Costumed Interpreters will be on site daily to share these stories while offering families the opportunity to try on period dress. Don’t forget your camera!

March Break Matinees – NPC’s Old Fort Erie, 350 Lakeshore Road, Fort Erie, ON
Featuring award winning classics, charming family favourites and culturally important recent releases, these films will be shown within NPC’s storied Old Fort Erie visitor centre theatre. The modern theatre has ample seating, surround sound and a large projector screen to showcase many of today’s finest films. During March Break, two-films will be screened each day, at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00. Annual Spring Display at the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse, 7145 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, ON
Spring has arrived at the popular Floral Showhouse! Located just south of the Falls the Showhouse features a seasonal display bursting with gorgeous blooms, orchids and exotic tropical plants, as well as beautiful songbirds. Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., admission to the Floral Showhouse is: $5 for adults 13+; $3.75 for children six to 12 and children five and under are free (All Prices in $CDN + Taxes). Season pass upgrades are available for an additional $5 and parking is also $5.
Niagara Falls to be Illuminated in Green for St. Patrick’s Day, March 17 at 10 p.m.
In partnership with Tourism Ireland’s “Global Greening” campaign, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board will light Niagara Falls in green on March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day alongside other world icons such as the Empire State Building, the Colosseum in Rome, the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Nelson’s Column in London and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Niagara Falls Wonder Pass
The Niagara Falls Wonder Pass offers the best value for your March Break adventure! The Pass includes admission to The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory (including the We are the Insects Exhibit), Journey Behind the Falls and NPC’s Niagara’s Fury attractions. As well, the Pass includes two day transportation on the WEGO tourism bus system and bonus coupons for shopping, dining and additional area attractions.
