A Brief Note on this one from Niagara At Large publisher Doug Draper
I am posting this one because it so expresses the view many people in Ontario, including this Ontarian, have that the province’s Liberal government flushed more than a billion of our tax dollars down the toilet when it cancelled plans to build two gas-fired energy plants in Oakville and Mississauga to secure seats there in the 2011 provincial election
Only major problem I have with this image is that it should contain the face of the Liberal premier at the time, Dalton McGuinty, and not Kathleen Wynne.
It was McGuinty, when he was premier, who failed to exercise the powers he had to place these two gas plant proposals under full environment assessment reviews (thus giving opponents in Oakville and Mississauga intervener funding to higher their own lawyers and expert consultants to show why these plants may damage people and property in their communities). And it is he who should pay whatever price, up to and including criminal prosecution depending on the outcome of ongoing police investigations into this matter.
And lest we forget, the opposition Conservative Party of Tim Hudak also promised to cancel these gas plant plans up to the 2011 provincial election.
Now if you have an image or photo you might like to share as a possible candidate for Niagara At Large’s ‘Sign of Our Times’ spot, send it in a jpeg format to drapers@vaxxine.com.
Meanwhile, we invite you who dare to share your real first and last name to also share your views on this one.

In a Toronto bi-election a couple of years ago the Liberals did basically the same thing when a Hospital (Grace Maternity I think) was to be shut down but instead the Liberals came up with 10s of Millions to keep it open just to save their seat in that riding from the surging NDP.

The plate is deceptive. WE owe $1.2 billion thanks to our politicians.
Imagine how much that could have done toward health care, education or even transit in Toronto. That place is a hell hole to drive in.
