Protect our local municipal democracy from individuals like this – from left at top, incumbent Falls Mayor Jim Diodatii, St. Catharines Mayor Mat Siscooe and outoing Welland Mayor Frank Campion, who hopes to be appointed by Premier Doug Ford, below, as the next Niagara Regional Chair, a positoin our elected regiional councillors, now swept away by the Fort government, used to pick.
Niagara, Ontario – This may be one of the most important municipal elections we face at a time when Ontario Premier Doug Ford and his Conservative Government are doing everything they can to diminish our democracy at the municipal level of government.
So please, go out and vote this Monday, October 26th for the candidate at the mayoral and municipal council level who will represent the interests and concerns of us, and not those of the big-money developers and others who support Premier Doug Ford and his bunch, including Niagara West Ford Government MPP Sam Oosterhoff.
If you care about public health at the local level , soaring property taxes, transit, infrastructure that addresses flooding and other conciners and spiraling police service costs at the municipal level, just to mention a few things, then please get out there this Monday, October 26th and vote for the candidates you believe will do something to address all of that.
