As Canadian politicians right up to and including Prime Minister Mark Carney prepare to spend billions of our tax dollars on new pipelines for oil and gasoline, and billions more on weapons of war, the fight against climate change and what it is doing to damage and destroy countless of billions of dollars worth of food-growing lands, residential and business properties and the health of wildlife and humans is getting the short end of the stick.

One of the many images we were exposed to about flooding this past summer in Niagara that caused hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damaga, according to insurance companies

The interests of petrochemical corporations and the gas and diesel guzzling vehicles and other machines that support them seem to win out every time when it comes to tax subsidies and enverything else politicans at all levels of government can do to support them over building a greener economy.

With that, here is a recent interview that the Canadian Press did with scientist and long-time climate activist David Suzuki that I think ever one of us in this county, including our kids in school, should here.

A Footnote from Doug Draper – This October, during these municipal elections, we should do everything we can to elect those who want to serve as mayor and councillors in our municipalities  who, among other things like making life for us more affordable and addressing the housing crisis, give a damn about doing everything we can at the local level to address climate change.
