Visit The Historic Central Fire Station In Welland For A Very Special Exhibit

An Invite to All from the Central Station Education Initiative in Welland, based  in Niagara, Ontario

Posted September 18th, 2026 on Niagara At Large

The historic Fire Hall in downtown Welland, Ontario

Starting this Saturday Sept. 19th but most importantly, during Culture Days we have a new and very interesting historical exhibit focused on those brave firefighters from across the Niagara Region who joined the Corps of Canadian Firefighters and travelled to England during World War II to help fight the fires in London and other cities started by the Nazi bombing raids during the “Blitz”.

It includes photos, artifacts and films.

We hope as many people as possible visit this  important historical exhibit. It will remain at Central Fire Station during Culture Days and until the end of October

We are open during “Culture Days” the following times:

  • Saturday Sept. 19th  10am-2pm
  • Sunday Sept. 20th  10am-2pm
  • Wednesday Sept. 23rd 10am-2pm
  • Saturday Sept. 26th 10am-2pm
  • Sunday Sept. 27th 10am -2pm
  • Wednesday Sept. 30th 10am -2pm

After that we go back to our regular schedule in October – open every Saturday 10 a.m.-1 pm.

We would like as many people as possible to view this important part of Canadian history.
