Carlos Santana (left) and Clive Davis, sharing the joy in a treasure trove of Grammy Awards in 2000 for the song Smooth and the Santana album it was a track on.

Santana, Chicago, Blood, sweat & Tears, Janis Joplin, Donovan, Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Earth, Wind & Fire, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys. … the list goes on and on and on.

As a record executive and producer at Columbia Records going back to the 1960s, then at Arista Records, Clive Davis, a Grammy Award winner himself and an inductee in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, played a major role in advancing all of their careers.

I am taking a little rest from posting news and commentary right now, but I cannot help but post this wee little bit on this giant in popular music who played such a huge role in filling our lives with some of the best much from the past 60 years.

With that here is a short video on him that you can watch by clicking on the screen immediately below –
