If you are old enough to remember ‘Beatlemania’ in the 1960s, you may be finding it as hard as I do to learn that this just past Monday, July 7 was Ringo Starr’s 85th birthday.
And the former Beatles drummer continues touring- – sometimes doing concerts at venues on one or the other side of the Niagara River – with some of the best musicians of the past 50 or so years.
Back in the old days when he was part of that band many of you may remember.
I have been lucky enough to see Ringo with one of his ‘All Star’ bands about two or three times and if you ever get the chance, it is a lot of fun and you’ll be amazed at how great a drummer he still is as he sprinkles his shows with Beatle songs he sang like ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ and ‘Yellow Submarine’.
For his 85th Birthday, Ringo produced a very short video in which he asked everyone around the world to wish each other peace and love. His birthday may be over but it is never too late to work together for that.
