Don’t Let Doug Ford and His Tories Use Thuggish, Draconian Tactics Beat Hard-Working People Down!

Many thousands of people across Niagara and the rest of Ontario who work every day of the school year to keep our schools clean and safe and functioning for young people have been fighting hard for more livable wages and benefits.
They have been answered by a Ford government in Ontario that came to power more than four years ago with an expressed hatred for unions and a zeal to keep wages as low as possible for everyone working in this province.
Now they are taking draconian steps to deny education workers a right under Canada’s Charter of Rights to strike and they are threatening to fine them $4,000 per day for every day they choose to take strike action.
Every worker and every person in this province should take their side and consider doing everything possible to support them, including holding mass walkouts of their own and to raise money to cover the cost of those fines if necessary.
Ford and his fellow Tory bullies should not be allowed to bury people fighting for a more livable wage in our communities in the ground!

During the last Provincial election the snake oil salesman Doug Ford, promised work for the people of Ontario in his platform. What he didn’t promise was the amount your hourly wage would be. The PC government has always been known as a ”Union Buster” but the fast talking Ford persuaded the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers, the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, the International Painters and Trade Union and ”Liuna”, the International Labours Union to join forces and back him. The trade unions have never backed a PC government and no doubt, this was an omen of what was to happen once he got the reins and as you can see this is only the beginning.
