In the Wake of Multiple Charges of Workplace Harassment, the ‘Right Honourable” Julie Payette Resigns
A Brief Commentary by Niagara At Large reporter and publisher Doug Draper, followed by a Statement released by Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau

From Doug Draper –
Going back to this past summer of 2020, an investigative reporter for CBC recorded stories from at least 20 staff members at Canada’s Rideau Hall – the residents of our country’s residence and headquarters for the official residence of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth of whatever may be left of the British Empire – revealed that the Governor General herself, former Canadian astronaut Julie Payette, had turned the place into a toxic, hell hole through her abusive behaviour.
It was so bad, according to reports from CBC’s Ashley Burke, that employees who had loved their jobs at Rideau Hall so much, prior to Payette’s appointment by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to one of Canada’s top posts some four years ago, that they wanted to make it their career for life, found themselves so being so humiliated and verbally abused, they fled to their care or a toilet stall in the place to break down and cry.
Many of them eventually quit. That is how toxic their work environment became under an individual that, according to so many accounts, epitomizes the definition of the sociopath in the workplace
Yet our soft Liberal prime minister, who loves to treat us with rhetoric about treating others with humanity, and about how much of a “feminist” he is (many of the harassed Rideau Staff employees were reportedly women), waited until now to accept this witch’s resignation – and not unitl what is being described as a “blistering” report by a consultant group is about to possibly be leaked to the media.
Enough, though, of Justin Trudeau’s all-too-fuzzy, hot-air balloon rhetoric.
Trudeau should have bounced this individual out of that regal office many months ago. Instead, he forced Canadians to listen to her read another so-called Throne speech that should have – in a mature democracy – been read by him.
Now may be as good a time as any – before Trudeau appoints yet another one to this medieval post – to consider whether Canada should go on having a representative to a British monarch who is little more than a symbol and tourist attraction across the Atlantic pond.
It has been more than half a century since Canada finally raised its own flag. Perhaps it is time to cut ourselves away from this last vestige of un-democratic, autocracy too.
Just something to think about or maybe contact your federal MP about.
