Finally!
The world has someone taking over the White House’s Oval Office in the New Year who sounds very much like he takes the climate emergency facing life on this planet seriously.
And it could not come a moment too soon!
Most experts around this world agree that climate change is an existential threat that could have catastrophic consequences for all of us if we don’t take significant, decisive action to address it – NOW.
During a press conference in his home state of Delaware this November 25th, U.S. President-Elect Joe Biden vowed that tackling the climate emergency will be one of his administration’s top priorities as he introduced former U.S. Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry as the person who would fill a new position of ‘Climate Envoy’.

In a statement, John Kerry, who helped former U.S. President Barack Obama, negotiate and sign the Paris Climate Accord with Canada and multiple other countries around the world in 2016, had this to say –

Then U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry signs Paris Climate Agreement on behalf of his country in 2016, with grand-daughter Isabelle looking on. Trump later trashed the agreement and Biden promises to rejoin ii on or near Day One in office.
“America will soon have a government that treats the climate crisis as the urgent national security threat it is. I’m proud to partner with the President-elect, our allies, and the young leaders of the climate movement to take on this crisis as the President’s Climate Envoy.”
