For Trumpies, America is a Rotting, Violent Horror Show

As the late David Bowie said in a song; “I’m Afraid of America!” Thank God those Border Crossings to the U.S. are Still Closed

Wasn’t he going to end all of the “carnage” and “Make America Great Again”? What happened? He’s already had more than three and a half years.

Don’t know if you dared to tune in to any of the first night of Trumps Republic National Convention shit show this now-past Monday, August 24th, but Trump’s son, Donald Jr., and a rogue’s gallery of others sure did paint one nightmarish picture of the state of the nation in the United States today.

Isn’t it interesting how, four years ago, Trump ran for U.S. president on a slogan that he was going to; “Make America Great Again.” After he won, and during his inauguration address in January of 2017, he vowed that he was going to end what he claimed was the “carnage” in his country right there and then.

And yet, when you listen to the speakers this August 24th, on the first night of his convention for a run for a second term, you’d think that the whole country was literally living in a hell, with mobs possessed by Satan, running around with torches and cycles – all out to destroy Western civilizations,  along with the  suburbs as mostly older white Americans remember them from more than 50 years ago, when TV sitcoms like ‘Leave it to Beaver’ and ‘Ozzie & Harriet’ were still on the air.

Donald Trump Jr.’s all-so-wholesome-looking girl friend, lawyer and Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, told the Trump convention audience this August 24, that America’s suburbs are under assault. And she warned that if Joe Biden and his Democrats “want to destroy this country. … They  want to steal your liberty and freedom, they want to control what you see and think and believe so that they can control how you live.” Only Donald Trump, she insisted, can save Americans from the likes of that.

On MNSBC’s cable TV program ‘Morning Joe’ this August 26th Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson said he had a difficult time understanding the over-riding message of the convention’s first night.

“It’s as if they were saying; ‘Everything around you is going to hell in a hand basket,” said Robinson, to quote him almost word for word, “so vote for Trump so we can have another four years of this.”

It truly was, from what I watched, disturbing and mad, as if you were watching some combination of Alfred Hitcock’s ‘Psychco’, Rod Serling’s ‘Twilight Zone’ and Stanley Kubrick’s ‘Dr. Strangelove’ all rolled up in one –

Now if you watched any of this, tell me in all honesty, how interested are you, if you are a Canadian or someone living in some other country in the world, to take a trip to the United States?

By the way, if you tune in the the Trump convention on this evening of August 25th, one of the featured speakers is Melania Trump, the one who passes as the country’s current ‘First Lady’. Get out the popcorn for that one.

Melania Trump, featured here on a January 2000 cover of GQ magazine in Britian, before she married the Donald, is scheduled to speak at the Trump convention this August 25th. What a wonderful role model she is for the children of America, and evangelical Christians in particular. Sure beats Rosalynn Carter and Barbara Bush.
