Dear Friends of Animals,

Please mark your calendars now for Saturday March 14th – 7 p.m. and we will be hosting speaker Calvin Neufeld from Evolve Our Prison Farms (EOPF).

The talk  will take place at 7 Gale Crescent (opposite the Rex Stimers Arena). We warmly  invite you to attend. Question time and light refreshments will follow the talk.

EOPF was founded in 2016 by Calvin Neufeld and his mother Franceen Neufeld. EOPF  is a grassroots social justice campaign advocating an ethical and  environmentally responsible approach to Canada’s restored prison farm program, and opposing any exploitation of prisoners and animals.

They support plant-based “green” agriculture which could be coupled with a recognized model of animal-assisted therapy (no slaughter or farming of animals). They have and continue to oppose the government’s intention to establish prison beef and dairy operations, and using prisoners to butcher animals in an onsite prison abattoir.

Evolve is 100% volunteer-run, supported by experts in law, criminology, environmental science, labour studies, social work and animal therapy, as well as hundreds of prisoners and thousands of Canadians.

Calvin Neufeld is a social justice advocate whose other work includes LGBTQ and anti-bullying education. He is also the lead organizer for Kingston VegFest, an annual community festival celebrating plant-based living.

Niagara Action for Animals hopes that you will be able to attend.
