Niagara Centre Liberal government MP Vance Badawey
Ottawa, Ontario – MP Vance Badawey was selected as Vice-Chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group. This Group is tasked with providing federal legislators in Canada and the United States the opportunity to discuss issues of importance to both countries.
“Canada and United States have a longstanding and productive bi-national relationship that benefits both nations greatly. We continue to work collaboratively on such issues as NAFTA (CUSMA), the Great Lakes, resource management, binational transportation and integrating distribution and logistics, including strategic bi-national infrastructure investments that promotes fluidity.
By working with our U.S Colleagues at the State and Federal levels, we have seen consistent and positive developments emerge on a range of files relating to our shared social, economic, and environmental stewardship,” stated Badawey.
“This relationship has helped define who we are as a nation and it is in the best interest of all Canadians for it to be strengthened in the years ahead. Being a member from the Niagara Region, in close proximity to the American border, I have been fortunate to see the deep association and friendship that binds our collective goals.”
“Moreover, whether serving in local government or at the federal level, I have made it a priority to work collaboratively on issues such as those mentioned above, with my counterparts in the United States to advance the goals of both Niagara and overall, Canada,” concluded Badawey.

Congratulations to Vance Badawey, but forgive my ignorance and cynicism when I ask “What does any of this mean when we know that every initiative gets bogged down at the municipal level especially in Niagara Falls, Ontario where there is an underworld that has long ago infiltrated City Hall?”
Call me psychic but Vance will have absolutely no sway with them.
Is he willing to roll up his sleeves to address this glaringly rogue Mayor and the majority on City Council and staff because if he isn’t, I fail to understand why yet more tax dollars are being spent on what will be little more than a smoke and mirror, feel-good initiative.
If his new portfolio requires that he manage shared social, economic and environmental stewardship initiatives then he is in for one rude awakening. We can only hope this results in his call for an uncompromised and exhaustive police investigation into the ever-worsening quagmire that is the City of Niagara Falls.
