In Doug Ford’s Ontario, Climate Protection Took Another Hit This Week

Contact Ontario Environment Minister Jeff Yurek and tell him to keep his hands off our Conservation Authorities

A Message from the Green Party of Ontario

Posted August 21st, 2019 on Niagara At Large

In a surprise letter, Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities were told toshut down part of their operations.  Their reaction: “Stunned. Confused. Extremely disappointed.”

Reject cuts to flood prevention

These are the experts who protect us from flooding by conserving thenatural areas that absorb excess water.   So why is the Premier taking an axe to their work?

The truth is we cannot afford to lose valuable flood protection as the climate crisis accelerates.

Without conservation authorities, extreme weather events will cost us more- like the storm that dealt $80 million in damage to Toronto in just three hours last August.

Help us stand up for climate protection.  Tell the Environment Minister (Jeff Yurek) to stop cuts to flood prevention.
