The Niagara District Council of Women will be hosting a Public Forum on “The Opioid Crisis in Niagara: What is Being Done?” on Wednesday, February 13 at 8:00 pm in the Mills Room at the St. Catharines Central Library (54 Church Street).
Our guest speaker will be Talia Storm, Manager of StreetWorks Services at Positive Living Niagara. She will talk about the work of the StreetWorks harm reduction program including the needle exchange which provides safer injection and inhalation supplies throughout the region, and the local Overdose Prevention Site.
Efforts of the Overdose Prevention and Education Network of Niagara (OPENN) will also be highlighted. About the NDCW – The Niagara District Council of Women works towards improving conditions for the family, community and society in areas such as economics, education, health, environment, housing, justice, status of women, social development and seniors’ issues.
