You Are Invited To A Backyard Gathering – Sunday, August 19th – In Support of Carlos Garcia, St. Catharines City Council Candidate for Port Dalhousie

An Invite  from the Campaign to Re-Elect Carlos Carcia to St. Catharines City Council

Posted August 3rd, 2018 on Niagara At Large

St. Catharines City Councillor Carlos Garcia, running again for the Port Dalhousie ward. One of the very good ones. Give him your support

As many of you already know, Carlos Garcia has announced that he is running for a second term on City Council: Great news indeed!!!

Carlos has been both an effective leader and a rational voice on City Council.  We are privileged to have him representing both Port Dalhousie Ward and the people of St. Catharines.

Carlos brings commitment as well as great leadership and analytic skills to the position.  This was very clearly demonstrated in his determination and management ability as he previously led the community’s battle to preserve Port Dalhousie’s unique heritage and the village feel we all know and love.

Development proposals are reaching some very interesting junctions and the future of Port Dalhousie will depend on the next City Council.  We need Carlos there!

We want to help Carlos to run a successful campaign.  We are organizing a fun afternoon in our backyard so that you, your spouse/partner and anyone else that you feel should be there, can get together with Carlos and the rest of us and talk about what can be done.

And we welcome your support in any way: whether encouraging words, contributions to his campaign fund, providing sign locations or volunteer help in organizing and canvassing Port Dalhousie Ward.  All are welcome!

When: Sunday, August 19, 3:00 pm to sunset.

Where: The backyard of 38 Dalhousie Ave.  Come in by the path to the left of the garage.

We Provide:
-Excellent company
-Draft beer
-Bergen Bread and Bergen BBQ ribs

Please RSVP by return email to help us plan logistics.

This email – GarciaPortDalhousie@gmail.com –  is going to you because you are on a list we compiled with Carlos’ input. We hope we didn’t miss anyone but, if you know of someone else who should be there, please let them know.

Hoping to see you here on August 19th,

– David Bergen and Deborah Kehler and the Re-elect Carlos Campaign Committee

A Footnote from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large –

Usually journalists wait until the eve of elections to endorse political candidates, but these are unusual times with the crisis of public confidence and the disaster we have with municipal politics over this passing term in Niagara, especially, but certainly not exclusively, at the regional level of government.

For that reason, you are going to see quite a bit of endorsing on Niagara At Large in the weeks and days leading up to this year’s October 22nd municipal elections, because we need all of the decent, responsible people, dedicated to serving in the public interest, on our councils as possible to clean up the mess.

One of those people is Carlos Garcia, and while we are talking about the Port Dalhousie ward in St. Catharines, we urge you to re-elect incumbent St. Catharines City Councillor Bruce Williamson too.

The ward is allotted two seats on the City Council and Garcia and Williamson are the two very right people to continue filling them.
