Niagara, Ontario – Ontario (the province’s Liberal government) is investing in local projects across the province to create opportunity for families and build healthy and vibrant communities.

Local non-profit and charitable organizations will receive support from the province through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Organizations receiving support include:

  • Links for Greener Learning Inc. to develop educational and multi-faceted community teaching gardens. Encouraging people to support a healthy and sustainable environment, this initiative is helping conservation and restoration efforts to be better planned and more sustainable while impacting 2500 people in the community
  • Niagara Children’s Centre to help youth stay active by making upgrades to the tiled surface of its therapy pool. Fostering more active lifestyles, this initiative helps promote structured and unstructured physical activities and as an impact on the lives of 300 people in the community

These projects are funded through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s latest round of grants that will support 225 organizations across the province, and make a difference in the lives of 545,000 people across Ontario.

Ontario’s plan to support care, create opportunity and make life more affordable during this period of rapid economic change includes a higher minimum wage and better working conditions, free tuition for hundreds of thousands of students, easier access to affordable child care, and free prescription drugs for everyone under 25, and 65 or over, through the biggest expansion of medicare in a generation.
