Niagara, Ontario – On Saturday, March 24th and Sunday, March 25 th, 2018 over 175 students from across Niagara will be at Brock University (Pond Inlet) displaying their science and engineering project as part of the 56th annual Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
Over 100 volunteer judges comprised of local scientists, engineers and business professionals will judge the projects on Saturday, March 24th with a Community Open House taking place on Sunday, March 25th from 1:00pm3:00pm.
The topics of the projects being displayed are as diverse as the students who have researched them. Projects are presented in both French and English and represent the work of students from Grade 5 through to Grade 12.
Projects this year include titles: “Sleep Methods for Kids with Anxiety, ADHD and Autism” – Juvenile “How Does Wifi Affect Living Cells?”– Junior “Can 3D bioprinting replace organ transplants?” – Intermediate “Innovating Healthcare Technology through Mobile Applications”– Senior
The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony taking place at St. Catharines Collegiate in St. Catharines on Wednesday, March 28th from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The top awarded students will go on to compete at the 57th Canada Wide Science Fair in Ottawa, Ontario in May.
Members of the community are invited to the Fair’s Community Open House which takes place from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, March 25th in the Pond Inlet at Brock University. Come and see what our young minds are learning!

The Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the encouragement of science in students within the Niagara Region. The fair is a prestigious annual science event within the region sponsored by local businesses, and held this year Brock University.
The Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair is endorsed by Brock University, Niagara College, the District School Board of Niagara, the Niagara Catholic District School Board and le Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud.
