Act Now for a Green Tomorrow: Save Thundering Waters Forest in Niagara, Ontario!

A Free Educational Event – Wed., January 31, 2018     from 6:45 PM – 9:00 PM

A Call-Out from the Niagara Greens

A Brief Foreword Note from Niagara At Large publisher Doug Draper –

For those who may be wondering what this public meeting is about, it is about a plan driven by a China-based corporation, GR Canada, and Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati and his political allies at the city and regional government level, and possibly event at the Ontario government level, to move forward with an urban development project inside more than 480 acres of woodlands, wetlands and savannah grasses known as Thundering Waters on the Ontario side of a Niagara River watershed vital to the health of the Great Lakes.

That is what it is about and is what is at stake here right now and for a healthy, sustainable future. Don’t let these short-sighted politicos and their special interest vandalize it.

Raise your voice and cast your vote in the coming provincial and municipal elections for Thundering Waters!

Diodati and other proponents of this development dangle a promise of big money and thousands of jobs as a major reason to move forward with this project, as if to say that it is a choice between economic growth and this rich piece of Niagara’s environment.
This is a false choice that Diodati and his allies are trying to sell us. There are plenty of other places in the region that this China-based group can do their building that is not on or in such close proximity to provincially significant wetlands and other rare or endangered forms of life in a major bi-national watershed.
Residents on both sides of the Niagara River need to stand up and tell Diodati and company to stop wasting any more time with this project at this location, and find another place to do their building now.

In that spirit, Niagara urges you to come out of the following meeting –

Join the Ed Smith, Owen Bjorgan and Karen Fraser for a FREE educational event about:

  1. As I have stated so often this CANADA, since day one CANADA has been CONTROLLED (not Governed) by TWO Corporate owned and CONTROLLING Parties LIBERAL or CONSERVATIVE and the actions and lack of Action by the Corporate Liberal Government of ONTARIO totally demonstrates the extent to which the CORPORATE COMMUNITY RULES ONTARIO. The devastation that has and is unfolding in the NIAGARA REGION can be laid at the feet of this Control Mechanism in Queens Park the Liberal Government for it was and is their lack of due diligence and malfeasance that is the author of this pitiful debacle in the Niagara Region and elsewhere in Ontario. May they “NEVER” be elected to CONTROL our lives AGAIN.
